VIRAL MARKETING – The Future of Marketing!

November 24th, 2010 by Amit

Obama’s Presidency campaign was one of the most successful campaigns in history connecting instantaneously with millions across America and the Globe via social networks (Twitter and Face book) and leveraging the small but significant contributions of thousands of donors. More than $10 million of Obama’s second-quarter contributions were made online, and 90% of them were in increments of $100 or less. Nearly, 9,500 volunteers signed up to solicit their friends and families by hosting individual fund-raising. They created web pages for Obama. Some of them raised funds by inviting people to contribute according to their height-10 bucks a foot, and then a dollar an inch. These viral strategies were further strengthened through emails and social networking websites. Obama also ran an online raffle in which those who gave at least $5 as funds could win a chance to be part of a dinner for five with Obama. That’s the power of viral marketing! Read more…

Leveraging Web 3.0 – An Individual’s Web

November 17th, 2010 by Jiten

To understand more on Web 3.0, click here to read my first article in this series “The Web: Future and Beyond”

I’m sure you enjoyed reading my introduction on Web 3.0, its features and challenges. My series of articles will now focus on how individuals and the industry can leverage the new web’s potential.

Over the years, significant enhancements in mobile platforms have resulted in a huge surge in number of mobile users (2 out of 3 people now have a mobile phone compared to 1 out of 10 in the year 1999). Smart-phones and mobile web are becoming the de-facto channels for accessing content and services. Web 3.0’s growth and development focuses on leveraging these means for effectively reaching out to its audience. With such a potential, this question still lingers – “What’s there for an individual user?” My answer is – ease in creation, browsing and retrieving information through enhanced frameworks.  Read more…

Are social games really new?

November 10th, 2010 by Subbaraman

I still remember the days when I used to listen intently to the ‘rolling the dice’ games of Mahabharata. Thinking back today, I wonder if all games are as social as they were several thousand years ago. The IT services industry is a little more than ten years young. In the same 10 years we moved from the Y2K bug that we suspected was hidden inside COBOL programs, to an Internet Bubble and its bust, to the present day Cloud Services buzz. Nowhere in the history of the world has there been so much change that humans had to cope with.  Read more…

Mobility, Mobility, Mobility Everywhere….

November 3rd, 2010 by Suresh

The advancement of mobile technology is changing the way businesses are conducted and the buzz word today from a service provider perspective is convergence. While the mobility need is essentially driven primarily from the customer experience standpoint, the strong push from service providers is coming from the convergence angle. As enterprises are embracing mobility solutions, the mobile need for B2B and B2C is equally growing. However, mobility and convergence grow in divergence as we see multiplicity in the form of geography, market maturity and devices. Read more…

Would ACC break the Global boundaries of e-Learning and Assessment?

November 3rd, 2010 by Ravi

Imagine the grades of a kid from a rural area of a developing country getting compared to those of kids from developed countries in real time and the e-Learning courseware getting adjusted to the requirement automatically. Surprised? So am I.
